The Dragon's Claw v.3.0
Copyright 1994 - 1997 by Sean P. Price
To install The Dragon's Claw, create a directory for the game and copy
all of the files from DRAGON30.ZIP to that directory. Change to that
directory and execute INSTALL.BAT. This will extract all of the files
required by The Dragon's Claw into the proper directories.
After completing the above process, read the file SYSOP.DOC for
complete instructions on setting up The Dragon's Claw for your system.
If you are upgrading from a previous version of The Dragon's Claw there
may be changes or additions to The Dragon's Claw configuration files. You
should load GAME.CFG into RUDE_CFG.EXE and make whatever modifications are
needed. You should also read the file WHATS.NEW to see what changes and
additions have been made to The Dragon's Claw.
*** Important! Please read! ***
The Dragon's Claw version 3.0 has some new configuration options. If
you are upgrading from an earlier version, you will need to run
RUDE_CFG.EXE and make whatever modifications are needed. This version also
has some internal file format changes for some of the user files. You will
need to run MAINT.EXE before trying to run the game in order for the
internal values to be set properly.
The Dragon's Claw version 2.6 uses a different format for the user
files than previous versions. The INSTALL.BAT will delete your old user
files. Before executing version 2.6 for the first time, you must execute
RUDE_CFG.EXE and select the [U] option to initialize the user files.
The Dragon's Claw version 2.4 now uses the IPC Path to store messages
to players on both single and multi-node setups. Make sure that the IPC
Path setting in your configuration file is valid and that the directory
exists on your drive.
The Dragon's Claw version 2.1 uses a different format for the USER.IPC
file than version 2.0. You must delete the USER.IPC file from your IPC
directory.
